Description

Our Ethiopia Guji light roast coffee beans showcase the vibrant character that makes coffees from this region some of the most celebrated in the specialty coffee world. The aroma opens with a delicate tea-like fragrance that hints at the refined flavors waiting in the cup.

Once brewed, the coffee reveals an elegant sweetness layered with subtle fruit tones and the classic spice notes often associated with Guji coffees. These flavors develop gradually as the coffee cools, allowing the natural complexity of the beans to shine. The washed processing method enhances clarity and brightness, producing a clean and balanced cup with a smooth finish.

The result is a coffee that feels light and expressive while still delivering impressive sweetness and depth.

Flavor Profile

Flavor notes in this coffee often include hints of soft florals, gentle baking spice, and delicate fruit tones supported by a smooth sweetness. The body is light and refined with a crisp, clean finish that resembles the elegance of a fine tea.

The balance of sweetness, brightness, and subtle spice creates a coffee that feels both complex and approachable.

Perfect For

This Ethiopia Guji roast is especially enjoyable for coffee drinkers who appreciate bright and aromatic coffees. The clarity of flavor makes it an excellent choice for manual brewing methods where subtle notes can fully develop.

It performs beautifully in pour-over brewers such as the V60 or Chemex, where the clean cup highlights the delicate florals and spice notes. It also produces a smooth and flavorful brew in drip coffee makers and works wonderfully in an AeroPress for a vibrant and balanced cup.

The Story Behind Guji Coffee

The Guji region of Ethiopia has quickly become one of the most respected coffee-growing areas in the world. Located in the Oromia region of southern Ethiopia, Guji is known for its high elevations, rich soil, and ideal climate for growing exceptional coffee.

The Hambela area in particular produces coffees with remarkable sweetness and refined complexity. Coffee farms in this region are often small and family-run, with cherries carefully harvested by hand at peak ripeness.

Once harvested, the beans are wet processed to remove the coffee fruit before drying. This washed processing method is known for creating coffees with exceptional clarity, bright acidity, and clean flavor profiles. When roasted lightly, these beans reveal the delicate and expressive qualities that make Ethiopian coffees so distinctive.

Fresh Roasted for Maximum Flavor

All of our coffees are roasted in small batches to preserve the natural qualities of each origin. Fresh roasting allows the sweetness, aromatics, and complexity of the beans to remain vibrant, delivering a coffee experience that reflects the care taken from farm to cup.
